12 ottobre 1978 - viene trovata morta nancy spungen, fidanzata di sid vicious dei sex pistols, accusato dell'omicidio.
Da wikipedia: Fu trovata assassinata in circostanze mai chiarite nell'albergo newyorkese Chelsea hotel, dove risiedeva con Vicious, il 12 ottobre 1978. Sid fu arrestato per omicidio di secondo grado, e in seguito al rilascio su cauzione fece delle affermazioni che furono riconducibili a un'ammissione di colpevolezza. Ma alcuni testimoni dichiararono che la Spungen si era appartata con un personaggio sospetto (e sconosciuto ai più), e inoltre Sid stette tutta la serata al centro dell'attenzione. In ogni caso l'arma del delitto (un coltello con una lama da 13 centimetri, regalatogli da Nancy il giorno prima) venne trovata ancora insanguinata nella camera con impresse le impronte di Sid^[1]. Sid morì per overdose il 2 febbraio 1979, pochi giorni dopo la scarcerazione. La madre, Deborah Spungen, scrisse un libro sulla vita della ragazza.
