16 dicembre 1950 - nasce billy gibbons, voce, chitarra e barba degli zz top

16 dicembre 1956 - elvis presley si esibisce per l'ultima volta al programma radiofonico "louisiana hayride"; il dj termina il programma con la frase "elvis has left the building" diventata un classico modo per chiudere le esibizioni del Re ed invitare il pubblico a lasciare la sala.
nel corso dello zooropa tour gli u2 concludevano lo show con una versione a cappella di "i can't help falling in love with you", al termine della quale bono salutava il pubblico dicendo "elvis is still in the building"

16 dicembre 1976 - i deep purple si esibiscono a miami, FL; il bootleg della serata presenta le seguenti canzoni:
